Participant support costs are direct costs either paid to or on behalf of participants or trainees in connection with conferences or training projects. They are key to successful broader impact and outreach programs. To encourage such programming, the Federal government and Oregon State do not charge overhead on participant support costs. The following resources have been compiled to facilitate such decisions.

  1. OSU employees, including Graduate Assistants, can not be considered participants on an award to OSU;
  2. Participant support costs are exempt from indirect costs calculation.
